Against State Regulation
Alliance Comments/Endorsements
Congratulations.

I agree wholeheartedly with the document against state regulation. I will come to the conference on April 5th.

I wish to become a supporter of the Alliance. I'd be happy for my name to be so included.

Bravo

to express support for the principles I would like to sign up please

Please add me to the list of supporters

Thank you a million times for the info on the alliance against regulation. I have forwarded it to 100 others; I am trainer, supervisor, psychotherapist and writer and I am absolutely with you 100 per cent. It is unbelievable that we have reached this pass and I am prepared for resistance to this Gradgrindering of the profession. Thanks to you and all who have taken the resistance to this level and if there is anything I can do to contribute let me know. I have influence in my world and I shall be encouraging trainees and qualified alike to resist this farce! I was with 8 supervisees (all highly experienced) on Friday and we were working out that things were really bad and wondering how to influence this process. Feeling rather isolated in conversation earlier in the week I said to colleagues I would not join the regulated profession personally and would find another name to call myself such as maverick psychotherapist. I think we should aim to get the message through to clients too and via web sites. I may not be able to be at the conference because of holiday plans but want to be part of a formal organisation to combat the disease of government box ticking syndrome!

I register my interest in attending your meeting on April 5

Many thanks .. unfortunately I will not be able to attend, as I am physically disabled. My disability will also affecting my fitness to practice under the new regime. I meet all requirements ...but am already having trouble being recognised by authorities etc due to limitations I face and the competencies stated.

I'd like to attend this

If regulation is really about protecting clients then it should be process defined, as it is in many US states, rather than title defined. This is regulating for its own sake.

I would like to attend, thanks very much for organising,

I would like to attend please keep me informed

I will be attending the conference on April 5th

Thank you for the info please add my name. Many thanks

Are the proposed practitioner's regulations effective in the UK in its entirety, or are they particular to England? will your talk address psychotherapists who are currently employed and/or seeking employment in NHS and government regulated trusts e.g. Mind or Choice?

I am intending to come to the conference, and am willing to be more actively involved.

I would like to offer my support as a signatory of your Statement of Intent.

I would like to sign up to the Alliance. Many thanks to all of you who are taking action. I am disseminating your information to my supervisees and other colleagues.

I would like to 'sign up' for the Alliance.

I am writing in support of the ‘Against State Regulation’ document. As a psychotherapist in the NHS I am deeply concerned about current initiatives.

I support the opposition as expressed in the Alliance document against State Regulation.

I have signed the petition and would like to join the group. How do I go about this?

I would be very interested in attending, but possibly may not be able to make the whole day. Hopefully would not be too disruptive to come along a little later?

I am writing to thank you for writing the excellent summary of the main arguments against HPC regulation, which are brilliantly clearly put.

I would like to state my agreement with this document

I am the Membership Secretary of the National Council of Psychotherapy (since 1971) and many of our Members are unhappy about these proposed regulations. We have already made plans to ensure that those of our Members who do not wish to be enfolded within this HPC net have a good alternative. I would like the opportunity to speak with a member of your group to, perhaps, see if the NCP as a body could assist in this important work. I look forward to hearing from you soon

Congratulations. This is brilliant

Very good - I find it quite well argued. Well done!

All of us at Bohemia Counselling and many at AHPB support you in this work. I hope all goes well on the day

I am so pleased to hear about the Alliance and very keen to add my name to the petition. I agree that it is very important that psychoanalysis remains free from state regulation. It is an opportunity to assert our position.

I would like to state my agreement with the statement against regulation, and would like to add my name to it.

Good stuff; strangely someone from K&C PCT sent it to me too!

I'd very interested in attending the above conference and getting a better idea of the limitations/requirements that I will face once I want to become a professional in the field

How could I sign your statement "Against State Regulation"?

Please could you register me for the conference on the 5th April and include me on your mailing list.

I am a licensed Clinical Social Worker in United States of America and want to adhere to your alliance against State regulation.

Just to say that this idea has caught me and that I intend to follow up and find out more. I cannot yet fully commit as I don’t know the ins and outs. I will likely go to the April conference once I find out more.

I would like to attend the conference on 5th April.

I am a trainee counsellor and I would like to sign up to the alliance against state regulation. Please let me know what I need to do to show my support.

I've just read the Statement of Intent and could not agree more. It's very eloquently put and I would like to sign up. This work of the devil-in-the detail has to be resisted. Shall read the other stuff on the blogs etc. many thanks for your work on this.

I am interested in going to the conference on the 5th please add me to the list.

I would like to let you know that I want to attend the meeting on Sunday 5th April concerning state regulation

Thank you for your paper. I would appreciate hearing more, and agree with your principles.

I want to add my name to your list of supporters. Good work – thanks

I would like to register as a signatory to the statement of intent

I have every hope of attending this hugely worthwhile initiative.

Thanks for the work you and the others in the group are doing. I want to come to the Alliance Meeting on Sun 5 April. I’m not sure yet about signing up for the whole of the Agenda but I’m on board enough to want to come and I need to resolve at some point the current position in which I’m both opposed to the regulation under current discussion but not opposed in principle to the “right” form of regulation if it is controlled by the profession.

A note of thank you for all the work you are doing and to let you know I am coming to the conference.

I wish to sign up to the Alliance

I intend to attend the inaugural conference

Please send details about the conference. I look forward to attending. Thankyou

Thank you - you see things not going right and come out and say so. This has become a rarity. Thank you, we are behind you. What you say about relationships and clients are spot on. Although we are counsellors and psychotherapists, we have been clients and know the anxiety of being in the seat opposite. Most of these authority figures haven't the slightest idea.

I certainly think that state regulation would be bad for everyone. But I am very aware 'that which we resist persists'. Direct opposition will help to perpetuate the very system it is against.

Many thanks for your hard work bringing together coherent arguments against the current state of psychotherapy.

Thank you I'd like to be part of this. I am in grief for being handed over to the HPC (by the BPS).

Thanks for this and for all the work you and your colleagues are doing on this.

As a doctor I wholeheartedly agree that tighter regulation of the medical profession has not prevented abuse but taken resources away from patient care. The practise of defensive medicine to reduce risk of litigation is not in the patients' best interests. Your points about psychotherapy not being a precise science open to protocols and guidelines is important and mitigates against regulation being useful. I am not sure about 'pnc' however, and do not feel I could follow such a path. But I do want to add my voice to those who oppose state regulation.

I will be attending the conference on April 5th
